MAHOGANY JACKSON STORY Birmingham, Alabama mother Mahogany Jackson was found shot in the back of the head on Feb. 26, 2024 by the side of a road in a remote area in Birmingham, Alabama, hours after she texted her mother saying that she had been kidnapped and asking for help, according to the Birmingham Police Department. Eight suspects were arrested and bound over to a GRAND JURY for One Count FELONY MURDER. The evidence against the Defendants are largely based upon graphic screenshots from videos taken while Jackson was held against her will, before she was murdered. The photos depicted Jackson being slapped, punched, stripped nude, and forced to perform sexual acts while held at gun point. Jefferson county district attorney, Danny Carr, discussed the nature of the videos. "Sheer brutality, you know the barbaric nature of it, you can't substitute that by just still photos," said Carr. There are eight videos total. Initially brought forward to law enforcement by an acquaintance who was able to provide copies of some of the videos and direct investigators to Jackson's body. Investigators discovered three additional videos late Tuesday night. All eight of the defendants are seen in a portion of at least one of the videos. Mahogany Jackson FULL VIDEO On February 26th, 2024, Quinalta Crayton aka "Da Real Blu" posted a 2-hour video on Facebook. In the video she admits the eight suspects, Mahogany Jackson, a black male nicknamed "Lil D," and herself were tied to the felony murder and GRAND JURY INDICTMENT of Defendant Teja Lewis' baby father in THE STATE V. QUINALTA CRAYTON. Crayton admitted she introduced Jackson to drugs and the Defendants. Jackson informed Crayton that the Defendants planned to kill her. On February 24th, 2023, Crayton informed the Defendants that Jackson "ratted them out," therefore, Jackson met the fate initially planned for Crayton. Crayton SACRIFICED Jackson as a premediated act to turn evidence against the connected suspects, hoping to escape criminal prosecution in a prior case. Upon information and belief, Crayton and black male nicknamed "Lil D" assisted law enforcement in their investigation of Jackson to absolve themselves from their own crime(s). Both informants were part of a "group chat," and/or other forms of direct communication with the eight suspects within 48 hours prior to, at the time of assault, and/or around the time Mahogany Jackson was murdered. Both informants had a reasonable opportunity to aid/abet and/or stop the fatal acts against Jackson. Opening statements are scheduled to begin Thursday in a DeKalb County courtroom as Eligio Bishop, called Nature Boy by his followers, goes to trial. Jury selection finished Wednesday. Bishop was arrested and charged in 2022, after a woman and former follower alleged he had raped her and tried to prevent her from leaving in March of that year. Previous coverage from Channel 2 Action News reported that police had him under investigation for several weeks before bringing charges against him.

On Thursday, Trumpâs lawyers appeared at the US Supreme Court for arguments over a decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to throw Trump off the stateâs ballot under the 14th Amendmentâs ban on insurrectionists holding public office. Trump currently doesnât plan to be there. Instead, heâll be at Mar-a-Lago in Florida before traveling to a Nevada caucus victory party in Las Vegas. This comes after Trump appealed the state's Supreme Court ruling in December 2023, which disqualified him from the state ballot. At issue is whether Trump committed "Insurrection" by inciting a crowd to storm the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021 and whether that would make him constitutionally ineligible to be re-elected president. âThere is no upside to him attending these arguments,â one source close to the legal team tells CNN. âTrump understands how serious this is â the stakes could not be higher.â Trumpâs decision not to attend the historic Supreme Court arguments in the case â which would determine his ballot eligibility nationwide â is an indication of how carefully his team is handling the case before the court where Trump appointed one-third of the justices on the bench to create a conservative supermajority. The 2024 Colorado primary results are expected to be announced on March 5th, 2024.
